I was fortunate to be able to spend Holy Week in Manhattan and the Bozeman area while attending services at St. Anthony’s Orthodox Church from Vespers on the eve of Palm Sunday until Royal Hours of Great and Holy Friday. After which I made the short journey from Bozeman southeast to the town of Gardiner, MT. Gardiner is the gateway town for the northern entrance to Yellowstone National Park. This is where I have my apartment for the next several months. It is a rural town of just under 1000 residents and sits right on the Yellowstone River. My apartment is on the edge of town and has a direct line of sight to the mountains in Yellowstone. Unfortunately, because of the rural roads and large wild animals (e.g. bison, elk, bears) on the move, I did not make the drive back to Bozeman for midnight Paschal Services. I was able to live stream services from Holy Cross Monastery in Wayne, WV. On Pascha I drove from Gardiner into Yellowstone National Park to Mammoth Clinic (where I will be working) to pick up some supplies. I then drove 2-hours south to Lake Clinic where I started orientation with about 25 colleagues from across the United States. The drive was beautiful and I was able to appreciate the glory of God’s creation on Pascha. Christ is Risen, Indeed He is Risen!
